Jacob Klerman

Prof. Klerman is a Senior Economist at RAND. He is the Director of the RAND Center for the Study of Social Welfare Policy and led the official evaluation of welfare reform in California (the RAND Statewide CalWORKs Evaluation). Among his other interests are the determinants of recruiting into the armed forces, women's work behavior and fertility. Prof. Klerman also maintains an active interest in statistical and survey methodology issues. He is a past chair of the U.S. Bureau of the Census's Advisory Committee of Professional Organizations and has for many years served on the Organizing Committee for the Economic Demography Workshop.

Prof. Klerman received his B.S. from Brown University and his M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
