The Pardee RAND Graduate School Alumni Leadership Award

Dean Susan Marquis and The Pardee RAND Graduate School are pleased to announce the inaugural Alumni Leadership Award.

The Alumni Leadership Award

The Pardee RAND Graduate School develops individuals with passion and discipline. It takes passion to change the world. It takes disciplined analysis and hard work to ensure that change makes the world a better place. The Pardee RAND Graduate School Alumni Leadership Award recognizes prominent alumni who exemplify both of these characteristics, as well as leadership and public service.

Selection criteria will include, but not be limited to:

  • Outstanding and/or innovative achievements;
  • Meaningful contributions to the global, national, state, or community well-being;
  • Creation of constructive and practical approaches to global or national policy issues;
  • The promotion of the prestige of PRGS and/or its graduates through the publication, communication, or broad dissemination of original policy research and recommendations.

Awardees' contributions may occur in a single year or over a span of years. The PRGS Alumni Leadership Award will be bestowed biennially. This award includes a $1,000 one-time scholarship given in the awardee's name to a current student as selected by the Dean.

Nomination Process

The Pardee RAND Graduate School and the Alumni Award Committee are soliciting nominations from the PRGS community, broadly defined. Nominations may come from alumni, PRGS faculty, or RAND staff.
