John Fei

As an assistant policy analyst at RAND, Fei has researched China's air force doctrine and employment concepts, the implications of Korea's relations with China on Sino-U.S. relations, and energy security. Dissertation: "Why Are Asian States Responding Differently to China's Rise: The Cases of Japan, Korea and Thailand"

Sarah Olmstead

Sarah Olmstead

At RAND, Olmstead works on a wide variety of topics including energy and environment issues and understanding the causes and prevention of conflict. Dissertation: "Addressing Climate Change, Water Management, and Conflict in Central Asia"

Yuyan Shi

Yuyan Shi

Yuyan's research interests at RAND include health economics, economics of aging, and health policies in developing countries. Dissertation: "Economics of health behaviors in China." Shi expects to graduate in summer 2011.

Helen Wu

Helen Wu

Wu's current work focuses on policy strategies to improve public health, particularly in the areas of obesity and chronic diseases. She has more than 12 years of experience as a program director and analyst in national health policy, hospital management, and research settings. She expects to complete her dissertation, "What's on the Menu? Exploring the Restaurant Industry's Role in Obesity," in late 2011.
