PRGS: Beyond the Classroom
Maintaining a rigorous and relevant curriculum is central to being the nation's premier public policy graduate program. In our view, a world-class curriculum must offer students both an excellent classroom experience and an opportunity to extend their policy analysis training outside of the classroom.
For the past several years, the Pardee RAND Graduate School has undertaken a deliberate and thoughtful curriculum review and enhancement, beginning with our coursework but extending beyond our classrooms to provide experiential learning opportunities, complementary curricula, speaker series, and numerous opportunities for student leadership within the school and within the larger RAND Corporation. These efforts include
- introducing a Washington-based experiential learning program
- encouraging students to create and maintain a speaker series on topics related to international development
- developing a Los Angeles-area research policy symposium in conjunction with UCLA, USC, Pepperdine University, and Claremont Graduate University
